Kelly Landscape Architects worked with the Evergreen-Conecuh Development Office to develop a master plan for an 835 acre planned mixed-use development at Highway 84 and Interstate 65 in the city of Evergreen, Alabama.

Emphasis was given to utilizing the visibility along the nearby mile and a half interstate frontage for commercial retail development while taking advantage of larger developable portions of the more remote portions of the site as an industrial park. The planning process also allowed for the integration of numerous on-site wetlands through preservation and allowed for the use of wetlands as amenity features.

The Preserve at Trussells Creek –
Greene County, Alabama

Kelly Landscape Architects was retained to develop the master plan to create a “destination” gated equestrian and sportsman community for an 8,000+ acre site. This master plan reflects the owner’s goal to create a resort-like setting with vast open space readily accessible to all. Owners and guests will have access to miles of trails and greenways yet enjoy the privacy of living on their own mini-ranch.

The equestrian theme will be strong and the horse enthusiasts will enjoy the best facilities and manicured landscape surroundings. This resort community will appeal to the sportsman who may enjoy fishing any of the 33 lakes or Trussels Creek. Hunting opportunities will abound in the form of deer, turkey, quail, and pheasant. Shooters will enjoy the challenge of sporting clays and skeet at the lodge.
